Veterinarians Larry Sands, Owner Dr. Sands graduated from The Ohio State University in 1977. Joanna Manz, Staff Veterinarian Dr. Manz is a Graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Anthony Meves, Staff Veterinarian Dr. Meves is a Graduate of The Ohio State University. Registered Animal Technicians Our registered technicians are trained in all aspects of animal medical care. They are a valuable part of the total care provided at VAH. They perform the in-house laboratory procedures, radiographs, start intravenous fluid therapy, clean and dress wounds, and provide the much needed comfort care for our seriously ill pets. Surgical monitoring and assistance are provided by these professionals as well as preparation of surgical equipment and instruments. They attend continuing education courses that provide current issues in animal care, proper drug dosing, inventory controls, etc. We are proud of the level of care provided by our registered technicians. Veterinary Assistants Equally important in the care of hospitalized animals are our veterinary Assistants. They are thoroughly trained in nursing care and doctor assistance. They provide for the compassion of patients which includes cleaning, walking, feeding, medications, etc. All of our assistants understand the need for basic needs of the animal and much needed TLC.
